Description

Description

The LSA Dusk balloon goblet is mouth blown by skilled glassblowers. The fine optic effect is achieved by making impressions in the glass while it is still molten. The fine stem is drawn from the bowl of the glass and the foot is applied by hand. The rim is fire-polished to achieve a smooth finish. The glass is decorated by hand using metallic lustre paints which diffuse towards the centre. It is then fired at high temperatures to create a dual colour lustrous finish.

Dusk Collection: A collection of mouth-blown and hand-painted drinkware and decorative pieces. Inspired by the delicate mix of colours that fade into the sky at dusk. The sheer, iridescent finish is enhanced by the pleated texture of the glass.

Care: Hand-wash in warm soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.

Materials & making
The Horizon tumbler is mouth blown by master glassblowers into metal moulds to create the architectural silhouette. The rim of the glass is fire polished to achieve a smooth, finish. The open circular cut is achieved by hand using a diamond wheel, requiring great expertise to produce the straight, flat polished cut.
