A unique decanter and elmwood base which can be personalised to your requirements. The elmwood base is handmade in Scotland and is finished to a high standard.
Should you wish a specific design or logo please get in touch our engravers are always happy to discuss your requirements. The sides of the base are undulating following the design of the wood and making the base a more unique and interesting piece.
Burr Elm can be pure burr or partly burred (burry) and is generally more richly coloured than the surrounding plainer timber. Â The wood is cut from the protruding growths on a tree which have grown as if in a deformed manner.Because the grain in a burr is so wild and goes in many different directions it resists splitting and is fairly stable. Â It is more dense than ordinary elm heartwood and polishes well.
