Which whisky glass should I choose?

Start with how they like to drink their whisky and how much room you need for your engraving. The listed product prices are before optional engraving; a single glass costs an extra £10.00 to engrave. Packaging varies, and presentation boxes are included only where stated.

For a Scottish-themed gift

Choose a stag, thistle or Highland cow design. The Stag & Thistle and Highland Cow glasses have space for two short lines above the pewter. The Celtic Pewter Base glass leaves more of the bowl clear, making it a better starting point for a crest or longer message.

For cut glass and a discreet message

Cut patterns give the glass its decorative finish but leave less room for engraving. On the Sofiero, Argyle, City and Street glasses, we engrave underneath the base. The Roast whisky glass has a clear panel for wording on the side.

Personalised whisky glasses: your questions

How much does whisky-glass engraving cost?

For a single glass, engraving adds £10.00 to the product price. A logo or crest has an additional £20.00 artwork setup charge per order. Increasing the quantity of a single glass also increases its engraving charge. Delivery and separately selected gift boxes are additional.

For pairs, boxed sets or different wording on several glasses, check the personalisation total on the product page and contact us to confirm any extra work before ordering.

What can I have engraved, and how much will fit?

Names, initials, dates and short messages all work well. The form shows the line options for your glass. Many plain tumblers have space for up to four short lines; tasting bowls generally have less room. Glasses with pewter sleeves, such as Stag & Thistle and Highland Cow, suit up to two short lines above the metalwork.

Short wording is easier to read. If you have a long dedication or detailed design, ask us to check it against the glass before ordering.

Where on the whisky glass does the engraving go?

Usually on the outside of the clear bowl, in a permanent frosted sandblasted finish. On pewter-sleeved glasses, your words go on the clear glass above the metal decoration. Sofiero, Argyle, City and Street glasses are engraved underneath the base because their sides are patterned. Individual product descriptions explain the placement.

For the glass-and-hip-flask set, the online option is for engraving the glass. Contact us if you would like the flask engraved too.

Can you engrave a company logo or family crest? Will I see a proof?

Yes. Choose the logo or crest option on the product page and upload your artwork. We email a free proof for approval before engraving a logo or crest. A clear, plain-sided tumbler is usually a better starting point than a narrow band or a heavily cut glass.

The live preview is a guide to the design, not an exact photograph of the finished engraving. For multiple glasses, event orders or complex artwork, use our logo-glassware enquiry.

Can I order different names for a wedding party or team?

Yes. Add each glass separately with its own wording, or contact us with the names and quantities for a bulk order. Increasing the quantity on a personalised item repeats the same wording. For a pair or boxed set with different names, leave the details in the engraver's note and contact us to confirm the layout and price.

A name, role and short date make a useful best-man or groomsman thank-you. Call 0141 952 1395 if you would like help choosing a glass with enough engraving space.

Do the whisky glasses come in a gift box?

Packaging varies. Several individual glasses come in a protective card sleeve, not a presentation gift box. A gift box is included only where the product description says so: for example, the Stag glass, Stag pair and boxed set of four tumblers. Other presentation boxes are sold separately.

Check the product's packaging details and linked box, or ask us to confirm a suitable option. Do not assume one box fits every glass or set.

Can I buy a whisky glass without engraving?

Yes. Choose No engraving on the product page. The listed product price is for the plain item. Where a title says pair or set, that base price covers the stated number of items, not just one glass.

How should I wash an engraved whisky glass?

We recommend gentle hand washing for engraved glassware, following any care instructions on the product page. Sandblasting engraves the glass itself; it is not printed ink. Glasses with pewter or other metal decoration should not go in the dishwasher. Treat cut crystal and metal-decorated pieces carefully rather than assuming every glass has the same care requirements.

How long does engraving take, and can I collect in Clydebank?

Use the posting, delivery and collection estimates on your chosen product page after selecting personalisation. Timing depends on availability, the engraving and any artwork approval; a logo proof or a larger order may need extra time.

UK delivery and collection from our Clydebank shop are available. For a wedding, birthday or other firm deadline, call 0141 952 1395 before ordering so we can confirm what is possible.
